Adult Roles

All parents are expected to be involved in supporting the pack activities. It need not take much time, there are many ways to get involved in your boy's pack. The chart below gives a brief description of the many adults required to make the pack the most it can be for our boys. Click on the name of a position to find a more detailed description or just scroll through the page.

Committee Chairperson 10 hours to organize, 1 hour/month Set up committee chairs. Organize chairman for the various committee
X Assistant Committee Chairperson 5 hours to organize, 1 hour/month Assist the committee chair.
X Cubmaster 5 hours per month Attend pack, committee and district meetings. Plan for or organize pack meetings.
X Assistant Cubmaster 3 hours per month Attend pack and committee meetings. Assist the Cubmaster as needed.
X Secretary 3 hours per month Attend committee meetings, take notes at meetings, maintain list of pack property.

Treasurer 3 hours per month Attend monthly committee meetings and maintain pack bank records.
X Public Relations 2 hours per month Make use of the news media in publicizing pack events; take pictures at pack meetings and special events.
X Advancement Coordinator 3 hours per month Collect den advancement reports at pack leaders' meetings for use when ordering badges and insignia from the local council service center. Requires driving to Bethesda once or twice a month.
X Pack Trainer 2 hours per month Make sure that all adults in the pack are properly trained. Hopefully this person will be able to do the training using approved materials after being trained for the position.
X Tiger Den Leader 7 hours per month Host and coordinate weekly den meetings. All Tiger parents share responsibility for planning meetings. Organize den participation at pack meetings.
  Cub Den Leader 7 hours per month Plan and host weekly den meetings. Coordinate den participation in pack meeting.
X (some) Cub Den Co-Leader 5 hours per month Help den leader as needed with planning and running weekly den meetings and pack meeting.
X (some) Webelos Den Leader 7 hours per month Plan and host weekly den meetings. Coordinate den participation in pack meeting.
X Webelos Den Co-Leader 5 hours per month Help den leader as needed with planning and running weekly den meetings and pack meeting.
X Family Award Coordinator 2 hours per month Understand the Family Awards program, relay information to pack, maintain awards records, communicate information to council
X Community Service Coordinator 2 hour per month Set up community service projects for the pack
X Community Service Event 3-10 hours Organize a specific defined community service event for the pack
X Storage/Library 1 hour per month Need a large space to keep pack supplies and books
X Summer Events 6 hours Plan and coordinate 2 summer events
  Popcorn Coordinator 10 hours Attend training. Explain the fundraiser at the pack meeting. Collect orders from boys. Arrange collection of popcorn and delivery to boys.
X Popcorn Volunteers 2 days (few hours) Need several volunteers with large vehicles to pick up popcorn.
X June Graduation Coordinator 6 hours Plan and coordinate the June graduation
X Scouting for Food Coordinator 10 hours Pass out bags one week, collect food bags the next week.
  Pinewood Derby Chair 10 hours Organize derby. Assign tasks to volunteers. Run derby on derby day.
X Pinewood Derby Volunteers 2 hours Assist with various tasks associated with the Pinewood Derby.
  Blue and Gold Coordinator 4-8 hours during 1 month Plan Banquet. Organize Blue and Gold Volunteers.
X Blue and Gold Volunteers 1-2 hours Help with various tasks associated with the Blue and Gold.
  Camp Coordinator 10-15 hours Attend 1 or 2 meetings. Gather information and registration forms from parents.
X Special Events Coordinators 2 hours Organize other special events such as Scouting on the Mall, Scouting Day at Kings Dominion, etc. There are 4-6 events yearly which can be organized by one or multiple individuals.
X Fundraisers 10 hours Coordinate 4 yearly fundraisers
  Webmaster 2 hours per month Maintain website with current information. Send monthly pack newsletter.

Adult Training Information

NCAC training is available for new leaders and committee members.
